The bottle
What are the bottles made from, and where are they made?
Our bottles are made from pure copper and handmade in India by skilled artisans, with care and attention to each piece. The interior is uncoated copper. The exterior has a clear lacquer coating to help protect it from moisture-related stains and tarnishing.
What is its capacity?
The bottle holds 950 ml.
How much does it cost?
The bottle is £49.99, including complimentary standard UK delivery.
Do copper bottles keep water cold?
Our copper bottle is not insulated like a thermos. It does not actively cool water or keep it cold for a set number of hours. Water will gradually move towards the temperature of its surroundings.
Are the bottles leakproof?
Yes. Our bottles are leakproof when the lid is correctly fitted and securely closed. Always check the lid is fastened before carrying your bottle in a bag.
Care & usage
How do I clean my bottle?
Care for the lacquered exterior and uncoated copper interior separately, following our supplier’s guidance.
Exterior — clear lacquer coating: The exterior has a clear lacquer coating to help protect it from moisture-related stains and tarnishing. Clean with a soft cloth dampened with mild soapy water, wipe with a clean, damp cloth, then dry thoroughly with a soft towel. Avoid abrasive scrubbers, harsh chemicals, acidic cleaners, salt and lemon on the exterior.
Interior — uncoated copper: The interior is uncoated copper. Clean with mild washing-up liquid and a soft sponge, then rinse thoroughly and dry completely. If tarnish develops inside, a salt-and-lemon cleaning method may be used, followed by thorough rinsing. Keep salt and lemon away from the lacquered exterior.
Before first use and after cleaning: Wash the interior as described above, rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Hand wash only and store the bottle dry with the lid off. Do not use abrasive scrubbers or harsh chemicals.
Cleaning is different from drinking: Salt and lemon are only for cleaning interior tarnish, followed by thorough rinsing. Your bottle is intended for plain, still drinking water; do not store lemon water or other acidic drinks in it.
Why is my copper bottle changing colour?
The uncoated copper interior can naturally darken or develop tarnish over time. Clean it with mild washing-up liquid and a soft sponge. For interior tarnish, a salt-and-lemon cleaning method may be used, followed by thorough rinsing.
The exterior has a clear lacquer coating to help protect it from moisture-related stains and tarnishing. Do not use salt, lemon, acidic cleaners or abrasive scrubbers on the outside. Wipe it gently with mild soapy water, follow with a clean, damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
What can I put in my bottle?
Use your bottle for plain drinking water at cool or room temperature only. It is not suitable for hot liquids, tea, coffee, citrus juices, lemon water, acidic drinks, fizzy drinks or alcohol. Do not add fruit or other ingredients to the water.
What type of water should I use?
Use plain, still water that is already safe to drink, such as potable tap water or filtered drinking water, at cool or room temperature. Do not add lemon slices, mint, flavourings or other ingredients, and do not use carbonated water.
How often should I change the water?
Use fresh drinking water and empty and refill your bottle at least every 24 hours as a daily care routine. Avoid repeatedly topping up old water, and rinse before refilling. This is a recommended routine, not a guarantee that stored water will remain safe for a set period.
The bottle is not a water purifier. Always fill it with water that is already safe to drink.
Can I put my bottle in the dishwasher, microwave or freezer?
No. Handwash only, and do not put the bottle in the dishwasher, microwave or freezer.
